3. Documentation and Tool Navigation
This chapter records only the public materials and development tools that were verified here, taken from the N32H49x series product page, the model pages, and the download center on the Nations Technologies website. The product page and the model pages may list different entries; the model pages take precedence. The “Purpose” column summarizes the document text and the accompanying description.
3.1 Chip and Development Documents
| Document | Purpose | Where to obtain |
|---|---|---|
| N32H492 series datasheet (V1.0.0) | Main features, pin definitions, packages, and electrical characteristics | N32H492 model page |
| N32H493 series datasheet (V1.0.0) | Main features, pin definitions, packages, and electrical characteristics | N32H493 model page |
| N32H497 series datasheet (V1.0.0) | Main features, pin definitions, packages, and electrical characteristics | N32H497 model page |
| N32H497xG product brief (V1.0.0) | Series feature overview and typical applications | N32H49x series product page |
| N32H49x series user manual (V1.0.0) | Memory and bus architecture, peripheral operation, register definitions, and timing | Chip documents |
| Chip selection guide (2026.4) | Models, packages, and resource configurations of the series | N32H49x series product page |
| N32H49X series hardware design guide | Supply and decoupling, ESD protection, ADC and clock design, minimum-system reference designs | Guides |
| Dual-bank switching guide | Switching flow and option byte configuration for dual-bank Flash | Guides |
| Crypto algorithm guide | How to call the AES, DES/3DES, SHA, SM3, and SM4 hardware crypto engines | Guides |
No standalone N32H49x errata document was found on the website during this check; the notes and troubleshooting sections of this guide rely on the user manual text alone.
The user manual text this guide is based on is V1.1.0 (2026.7.20), which is newer than the V1.0.0 PDF on the website; where they differ, the local V1.1.0 text takes precedence. Materials on the website are updated over time; use the version listed on the website when downloading.
3.2 Hardware Evaluation Boards
| Board | Typical materials | Where to obtain |
|---|---|---|
| N32H497ZGL7_EVB | Schematic and hardware user guide of the full-featured board; on-board LED1 to LED3, KEY1 to KEY3, a WKUP button, and USB VBUS control |
Hardware |
| N32H497ZGL7_STB | Schematic and hardware user guide of the minimum-system board | Hardware |
The on-board resources and pin assignments of the two boards are listed below, taken from bsp/inc/bsp_eval.h:
| Resource | N32H497ZGL7_EVB | N32H497ZGL7_STB |
|---|---|---|
| LED1 | PA3 | PA3 |
| LED2 | PB3 | PA8 |
| LED3 | PA8 | PB4 |
| WKUP button | PA0, pull-down, high level when pressed | PA2, pull-down, high level when pressed |
| User button KEY1 | PC13, pull-up, low level when pressed | PA4, pull-up, low level when pressed |
| User button KEY2 | PA15, pull-up, low level when pressed | PA5, pull-up, low level when pressed |
| User button KEY3 | PB4, pull-up, low level when pressed | PA6, pull-up, low level when pressed |
| USB VBUS control | PH2 | PB3 |
SDK examples target the full-featured board N32H497ZGL7_EVB V1.0. The board macros are switched between the two boards through DEMO_BOARD in bsp/inc/bsp_eval.h, which defaults to N32H497ZGL7_EVB_V1_0;
the LED, button, and USB VBUS pin macros all change with the selection. The log UART is fixed to USART1 on PA9 (transmit, alternate function AF5) and PA10 (receive, alternate function AF5), 115200-8-N-1, for both boards. Evaluation boards can be ordered from the buy samples page of the website.
3.3 SDK and Development Support Packages
| Document | Purpose | Where to obtain |
|---|---|---|
| N32H49x series software development kit | The SDK this guide is based on, containing the driver library, CMSIS device support, example projects, and middleware | Firmware and software |
| KEIL PACK package | Keil MDK-ARM device support: device models, Flash programming algorithms, and debug descriptions | Firmware and software |
| GCC development environment guide | Environment setup for building and debugging this series with the GNU Arm Embedded Toolchain and VS Code | Guides |
| Flash programming algorithm source project | Keil and IAR Flash programming algorithm source projects, for building your own .FLM files |
Tools |
| J-Link model patch package | Adds the Nations device description files to J-Link so that it recognizes this series | Tools |
| NSLink and production tools | Online and offline production programming tools | Tools |
The KEIL PACK package, the J-Link model patch, and the GCC development environment package are shared across series and are not necessarily listed on the model pages;
search the download center by resource name for them.
